I don't like pirates or piracy. When people steal content it discourages creators from making more. My guiding principle when dealing with pirates has been to shut them out and to avoid linking to them. As an example, there are two web sites that have pirated my writing in the last ten years, and I don't deal with either of them today. When people ask about them, I don't hold back in sharing my experience.

Probably the smartest weight training site outside the old misc.fitness.weights Usenet group is Testosterone Nation; "T-Nation" for short. It's an excellent source of information on supplements and workout plans, and the regular message board commenters are unusually civilized and articulate. One regular feature is written by a fella who calls himself "Canis Dirus" which in Latin means "clown who makes tough guy faces in the mirror." Despite the regrettable nomenclature, he is occasionally amusing, as in this recent passage describing fitness model posed photography appearing in bodybuilding magazines:

Terry had the embarrassing job of trying to show her how to hit the suggestive poses rather than employ the usual verbal instructions like: "Yeah, stick your ass out like you're taking it up the rear from a pimply-faced, 135-pound FLEX reader! Yeah, that's where you want it! Now open your mouth like, uh, well, and uh, grab your... riiight! Now, close your eyes like you're in the throes of ecstasy!" Enough already?
