Normally I don't pay much attention to the competition placings at NPC and IFBB events, any more than I pay attention to professional wrestling. Because criteria are entirely subjective and the "sport" has historically been dominated by corrupt interests, the judging carries little weight with me. I just don't care who wins. One thing I do take seriously, though, is the sacrifice and intensity of preparation for these contests. Competitors work their asses off to prepare. To make a joke of their commitment is sadistic. It's inexcusable. This year's Figure Olympia, though, is a ludicrous travesty even by the standards of past IFBB events. D. J. Wallis came in last. Let me repeat that: D. J. Wallis came in last. Valerie Waugaman came in 12th. Twelfth. So basically, two women who by any reasonable measure should have finished in the top five, instead both finished below 10th. So for whoever rigged the event: congratulations. You just tainted years of work and sacrifice by over twenty women. Why the competitors tolerate being mocked like this, I will never understand.
