Alert the media and forward this post to Joss Whedon: I have found Wonder Woman.
Background: If you've spent any time there in the last five or six years you've probably noticed that New York is neck-deep in beautiful Romanian girls. By and large they speak English perfectly, with an accent that's a little bit Sophia Loren, a little bit Natasha Fatale - I can listen to them talk all day long. And if you've seen Inside Man you doubtless noticed the lovely Florina Petcu stealing the show as Ilina, the chain-smoking, lusty Albanian parking ticket scofflaw. Petcu is one of those achingly beautiful and feminine Romanian girls who have made New York their home in recent years, she's an extremely talented actress and perhaps best of all, she's a serious jock.
She has the physique of a dancer or a martial artist, with noticeable muscles that easily qualify her to appear on the cover of Shape or Oxygen. Her website features a few photos of Florina in boxing gear and in fighting stances, and her resume lists these physical skills:
Amateur Muay Thai fighting
boxing
dance (jazz)
jai yet stretch
riding bicycle
horseback riding
basketball
swimming
And God, she can act. She can really act - go see Inside Man if you doubt me. So not to over-burden you with lists today, but here's a brief summary of why Florina Petcu should be Wonder Woman:
She's about as good-looking as Lynda Carter
She's an amateur competitive martial artist, which will certainly simplify filming
She's got a very sexy and genuinely athletic body
She actually looks like she could be from the eastern Mediterranean
She can really act
She has an extremely charismatic screen presence
Perhaps most importantly, Florina has now been green-lighted by Amaz0ns and really, Joss, how much better are you going to do than that?
She's got a great face. I'd like to see someone even more athletic-looking (and bustier)... but Florina certainly looks like someone Hollywood would consider to play WW. (Maybe after about six months of weight-training... and they could pad out the costume; I doubt there'll be any nude or near-nude scenes)

I'm not seeing it. Her looks don't seem to resonate with me. Better than some other picks, like Katie Holmes or Rachel Bilson. I agree with D.C., though. Wondy should be busty, I don't know why so many people are nominating these flimsy, flat women for this role. What's wrong with Wonder Woman actually having breasts?

I'd give her a shot. As for her lack of chest material, maybe she should start eating yogurt & bread like Madeline Smith, the actress who played the buxom Miss Caruso in Live And Let Die. According to an interview in Cinema Retro, she was once flat-chested. To get a role in a Hammer horror film, she had to be buxom. Someone suggested she start loading up on yogurt & bread. If any of you have seen her in Hammer films or LALD, you'll see that this "diet" actually worked. It wasn't permanent as today she is flat as a pancake.

Even with hollywood camera tricks an actress who is only 5'5" is way too short to play an amazon. If Joss could get someone like Maria Cucinotta (5'10.5") and a D-cup then he'd be set. Hell, she'd be perfect for the role with a bit of weight training, as she already has the "Mediterranean" look. I just know that Joss will go for someone younger and with more star appeal, though, which doesn't necessarily mean a good choice. Maybe Famke Janssen (sp?)?

In 1974 Cathy Lee Crosby was Wonder Woman. She was athletic, blonde, and somewhat small in the chest department. The woman was a tennis pro/actress
Lynda Carter came along. Wow tall well built in many ways.
Now we are going to a Buffy type gal. Which we pretty well knew was going to happen.
I really wish we could have seen a 5'10" to 6' tall woman be put in the roll.
The DC WW has always been a bigger woman than normal.
O well...next we will see a 5 foot She Hulk.

Cathy Lee Crosby was actually skinny. Florina Petcu is not or was not when Inside Man was filmed. She's also 5'5", which is above average height and that's a height that can be massaged to appear more like 5'9". To my mind she has the face of Wonder Woman to a tee - there's a noble quality about her cheekbones and jawline. She's a genuine jock and a martial artist. And she has screen presence that flies off the charts.
Do you remember the scene in Twin Peaks when Sherilyn Fenn appears for the first time, and ties a cherry stem in a knot with her tongue? Florina Petcu's debut in Inside Man is just as strong.

I don't know about this one, Lingster, she didn't just graduate from high school, and doesn't have that vapid, half-dead look that's in nowadays. She actually looks like she's having a thought in the photos on her website...
This is one of the best choices of seen. I'm not concerned with Wonder Woman spilling out of her top (I like t*ts, too, but guys--c'mon, give the bust size prerequisite a rest), but the actor's definitely got to look intelligent and be able to DO something--run, fall, flap her wings, something.
I knew there was some reason (besides my man Chiwetel) I wanted to see Inside Man! That's not still out is it? :grin
