Joan Jett may shoot your balls off
When Jett released "Do You Wanna Touch Me", her muscularity was evident, and the video itself served as a showcase for the idea of Joan Jett as a tough bitch. In the 80s, she often performed in wife-beaters and tank tops that showed off her wiry arms and shoulders, and she still likes to show them off today.
Here's a back-in-the-day German TV clip of The Blackhearts performing their cover of "Crimson and Clover". (If you don't get a tingle when Joan looks into the camera at 1:29 and opens her eyes wide, well, I hate to be the one to break the news but you're probably dead.) Going really old-school, here's an (excellent quality) 1977 clip of Joan when she was with "jailbait band" The Runaways, performing "School Days".
More recently, here she is doing "Light of Day" along with some guy in a hat. And just this summer Jett turned up in this video by The Eyeliners, a band on her Blackheart Records label. (Go buy something from the label's store, like maybe this, you cheap bastards.) Joan Jett and The Blackhearts have wrapped up a successful summer tour, but you can check future tour dates here. Hopefully they'll keep coming back out to play.
