Linsner's Red Sonja

Damn, girl!
Red Sonja, pissed off
A comic book company I never heard of - Dynamite Entertainment - is publishing a new Red Sonja title. I looked at the interior art and Sonja's drawn way too soft and skinny to be swinging that sword around, but one cover by Joe Linsner is excellent.

She looks buff and crazy - my kinda girl!

It's available for sale as a lithograph

I wish someone would light a fire under Linsner's ass and get him to try something ambitious.  He's been drawing the same stuff since the Reagan Administration.  When he began to get wide exposure around 1989 his work seemed really cool and interesting, but 16 years later I have to stifle a yawn and a chuckle every time I see a drawing of "Dawn."  It's good to see him doing cover art because he's so talented and he needs to try some new things.  Hopefully he'll wake up one morning soon and say, "I will never draw Dawn again.  Let me call Bendis and see if he will help me get a gig on one of the Ultimate books."

Artistic purity don't mean squat if no one is paying attention to your work.
