Firefox 1.5
Sunday, 01 January 2006
I installed the new Firefox 1.5 release about ten days ago. It has a lot of cool features but it seems to lack the stability of Firefox 1.0, and it also seems to consume more system resources than 1.0. So if you haven't upgraded yet, you might want to hold off for a bit.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Firefox 1.0, though. And by all means you should try it out.

in which case I've found just the opposite of lingster. I've been running 1.5 for the past couple months, and I have far fewer crashes now than I did with 1.0. Firefox blows away apple's safari, and we won't even talk about explorer. . .

The Mac version of Firefox 1.5 runs better than the Windows version, but I've noticed it hangs a bit, too.

I've been running the Windows version now since it was released, and have found no real stability issues. It is a resource hog, but so was the last version.
