The ongoing scandal sheet coverage of New York Yankee's player Alex Rodriguez and his fondness for muscular women is bittersweet for me.
On the one hand, there's still some stigma against both
women who develop noticeable upper-body muscularity
men who are specifically attracted to such women
That a petite, attractive, fit woman like Joslyn Morse could be described in major newspapers as a "she-male" is evidence of the first point, and that Alex Rodriguez could be publicly shamed for having such an attraction is evidence of the second.
Celebrity deviance from norms often helps dispel stigma.
Sometimes this isn't a good thing, but often it's not terribly important one way or another.
So while it's great that Alex Rodriguez is attracted to buff chicks, it's awful that he's been such a cheating douchebag toward his wife.
Finally, it's worth contemplating a future in which Madonna has a paramour who encourages her to put on as much muscle mass as she can.
That wouldn't suck.
Such news is beneath human decency. They don't know what a she-male is. Then they put down Alicia Marie, who isn't very buff.

Alicia Marie is VERY buff, she's just not particularly bulky and not even remotely masculine. I saw her at the Las Vegas American Gladiators tryouts last year and she has sex appeal to beat the band.
To reiterate: not manly, not "musclebound"- just very foxy and very fit.
