The EU, China, UN and other political organizations that don't like free speech are trying to take control of root servers away from the United States.
When you hear this being discussed, what it means is that right off the
bat internet anonymity will be eliminated. Secondly they'll begin
shutting down sites that say things they don't like - Falun Gong and
neo-Nazis first, and growing from there. It's safe being run by the U.S., because the U.S. has some of the world's strongest legal protections for free speech. As soon as internet anonymity goes away so do most of the creators. Don't let totalitarian bureaucrats take control of the net.
