I'm reading John Scalzi's The Last Colony I was a little skeptical going in. Reviews indicated that Jane Sagan, the superwoman from the first two books in the series, begins the book retired to civilian life and without superhuman abilities. She's just normal. I was enjoying the book all the same, but then in the fifth chapter something happens that made me very happy. I won't tell you what it is but since I'm mentioning it here you can probably figure it out. Scalzi's become ridiculously successful and prolific over the last few years. And The Last Colony just came out in paperback, to make way for the next book in the series, so it's very affordable. Update: I finished it and really enjoyed the novel. Related Items:
