I was surprised to see that a compilation of Geoff Johns' and Dale Eaglesham's Justice Society of America is already available. For those of us who like powerful female characters, Eaglesham's art is a treat. His solid, athletic depiction of Power Girl in particular is delightful.
The Justice Society of America title is selling very well for DC Comics, regularly placing in the top ten U.S. comics by circulation - see these numbers at ICV2.com.
It's nice to see a comic fronted by a full-figured, female powerhouse doing so well.
Sadly this is not the case with She-Hulk, which had very poor sales in November and may have alienated a portion of its fan base with its recent and sudden change of setting and tone.
I've read the 3rd issue by Peter David, and it's pretty tame so far. Jen has gone from being a lawyer/superhero to a female gamma powered Colt Severs, and this is supposed to be an improvement? Hell, I'd rather read a comic book version of The Fall Guy than this.
