In this 1996 comic, Natasha Irons is transformed into a powerfully-muscled superhuman. Irons, the teenaged niece of John Henry Irons (aka "Steel"), ingests an addictive drug called "tar" that causes her muscular transformation, but the change only lasts for a limited period of time.
The issue is an interesting foreshadowing of events in 2006's "52" series, in which Natasha makes a deal with Lex Luthor to become super-powered. Like the addictive "tar", there is reason to believe that Luthor's metahuman augmentation program may come at great cost to those who accept the treatment.
As in Steel #26, Natasha is so entranced by the prospect of gaining super-strength that she's unable to see the glaring danger signals. She makes a deal with Luthor, even though she knows him to be a snake. In both comics Natasha undergoes a dramatic transformation from slender young woman to buff powerhouse. However, in Steel #26 Natasha could justify her actions by citing family obligations and duty. In 52 Natasha is acting for explicitly selfish reasons - she wants the power and she's not going to let anyone get in her way.
Can't wait for her beatdown! She's been a whiny selfish bitch this entire run!... Not that I advocate violence against women... but if she can throw a punch, she can take a punch!

Also, the follow-up in Steel #33 I believe has a cover with Natasha looking very muscular holding a tombstone over her head above her uncle. The interior art was a bit inferior but the cover was very nicely drawn.

This is a very interesting character, does anyone know how many issues of Steel Natasha gains super strength and muscles by taking tar? :)

I believe that she took Tar in only those two issues although I believe that issue #26 was a two-parter in which that was the conclusion. I'm not sure if she took Tar in the previous issue or not.
