Right off the bat let's get one thing clear - Stealth is not a
good movie. Set in the context of a U.S. Navy aircraft
carrier in "the near future," the story is not credible, the plot
doesn't track, and the cliches are thickly set. The "future" fighter
planes used look nothing like the U.S. military's next generation
F/A-22 Raptor, or even like the other candidate for the role, Boeing's
X-32. If anything, the planes resemble the Russian superfighter from Firefox.
Top Gun had better effects and more believable dogfight scenes, despite being 20 years old. But Top Gun did not have Jessica Biel.
No Hollywood A-list actress has ever been more muscular in a movie than Biel is in Stealth. It's out on DVD now. Stealth was filmed following Blade - Trinity,
and for the role of Abigail Whistler in the earlier film Biel began
lifting heavy under the guidance of a trainer and dietician. When
filming began for Stealth, Biel kept the muscle she'd gained
but her bodyfat crept back up to normal levels, perhaps 20%. She
might be about ten pounds heavier in Stealth, and that ten pounds is
glorious. Biel looks long and curvy and strong.
I thought she was bigger in Blade 3? I seem to remember how the she talked about how the costumers complained about her shoulders being bigger than when she was measured for the outfits.

She's a lot more 'cut' in Blade 3, but she's not as solid-looking. Plus in Blade 3 they're constantly trying to make her seem smaller than Wesley Snipes, when she's actually about the same height as him.

Well, I cede that the movie was pretty lame, although I did kind of enjoy it, being that my expectations were quite low. I went in expecting a flashy, cheesy, action-flick with cliched characters, and little substance. The plot was better than expected, although it was beyond implausible, and quite frankly, incomplete. The characters are cliches, although that's really a shame, given the great cast. You're right about the planes-they looked lame.
Of course, you're right about Jessica Biel. I noticed her muscle more in Blade, but she was definitely solid in this one. She really is one of the few reasons to rent this film (don't buy it). It was crap, but I've seen worse.

I agree with Mass in thinking she had more muscle in Blade 3. I too recall the part about her shoulders. I think in addition to somewhat higher bodyfat that she had already atrophied some of her gains for Blade. Plus I liked the lower bodyfat. I mean an arm may be bigger with the bodyfat but it is fat, not muscle. And I know for myself at least that it is the muscle and the *absence* of bodyfat which is appealing.
As for other A-list actresses, there was Linda Hamilton in T2, and you can take your pick of Holly Hunter movies. There is Deborah Shelton who may not be a list, but is certainly mainstream. There is Angela Bassett who was way bigger than Biel as Tina Turner. There is Jada Pinkett though again she is not A-list, just mainstream. There's Tea' Leoni who is A-list and very fit in Spanglish. There's Brittany Daniel in Joe Dirt and especially in Club Dread.
Those are just off the top of my head so I am sure there are many more.

I think a certain amount of fat actually does contribute to physical strength. That's why competitive weightlifters aren't "cut" - they have to balance the need to keep within their weight class against the energetic and leverage benefits of carrying bodyfat.
I don't think any of the actresses listed in the post above are as large as Biel in Stealth, though Bassett comes close.
