Super Fuzz

If you had cable TV and nothing to do after school circa 1984, you probably saw Super Fuzz 43 times on HBO. Between Super Fuzz, Return of the Dragon, Saturday the 14th (heh) and a handful of other low-royalty B-movies, the young Home Box Office was able to stay on the air during daytime hours without losing a bucket of cash. And God help us, we watched it. We watched all of it.

Now you can relive those lost moments of bored pubescence, because Super Fuzz is - no shit - now available on DVD. From the funtastic official plot synopsis:

The policeman Dave Speed is assigned in a mission in an ex-indian reserve near a military shooting range. Casually, while Dave is doing an on the spot investigation, a nuclear missile explode, the radiation gave him superpowers. Dave so became able to move object with the mind force, to discover misterious crimes and to jump with no problem from a skyscraper. His friends cannot understand that trasformation.

My brother used to worship that movie...when he was 8. I swear...Super Fuzz was playing constantly in my house for six months.

And thanks very much for posting this. I've been meaning to research the movie behind a recent Sprint ad, which shows a western in which the character gets into a slap fight. I couldn't remember it (or Super Fuzz) until now. But it is the same actor (Terence Hill). The western spoof movie is They Call Me Trinity.

It was about six months that HBO played it almost constantly.
