Here's one for the fanboys: a G4 TV promo spot featuring an eight foot tall, flying, stacked mega-blond in a skimpy Tron suit who gives piggy back rides to scrawny teenage boys. She is the Goddess of Digital Goodness and like many divine figures is the incarnation of several painfully overlapped metaphors. Yet she is hot.
John Cusack does the voice-over, a fact I mention for no particular reason other than I am trying to put enough text over here on the left so that it matches up with the video on the right. That's very important to me.
Heh, that was an odd commercial, and creative, I'll give them that.
G4 isn't half the network it used to be though, especially after the merger with TechTV. It started out as a really interesting -gamer- television network, with reviews, previews, gaming news, cheats, and even documentaries and reruns of Starcade!
But now...well it's a mixed bag. They draw you in with the ploy that it's about gaming and technology...but everytime I turn it on, it's Star Trek. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but on a Gaming/current Technology channel?
There's now maybe two shows that even apply to the channel anymore, and off the top of my head, that's Cheat and Attack of the Show. That's hardly enough!
Meh, decent commercial anyways!
