I believe this video is from a competition in the latter half of 2004, after Tomoko Kanda spent more than a year bulking. I think she looks amazing.

Tangentially, to my untrained eye it doesn't appear that her bodyfat is below 10%, which is perhaps a practice that ought to be emulated by female physique competitors in the United States. The current practice of women dropping down to 8% or lower is insane and unhealthy.

She doesn't look like she's in contest shape in the pic to me, and I remembered she did a guest posing at some point that year. After a bit of searching I found a pic on her site that seems to corroborate it. If you look at this page you'll see it's the same suit and the title says "my first guest pose".

I stick by my point that "contest shape" is unhealthily lean for women.

I'll agree with that. I like Tomoko in the condition she's in here.
