Donna Mangano
Donna Mangano
I'm not much of a reviewer. My tendency is to either say something is good or that it's crap, and walk away. The whole business of providing some kind of play-by-play - that's not me. However, this is a review and I will do my best.

One of the older videos in my collection is , which dates from about 1992. Ever since I first saw her photos I've been a huge fan of Donna Mangano, one of the two women featured in the video. Mangano is thick - 5'2", 145 pounds of muscle and curves. She's lush and sexy and strong in this video - a good chunk of the video is filmed with her posing in the outfit at right, and she looks like she's about to pop right out of it. Mangano's a fleshy, muscular dreamgirl, and she comes off as very bright and well-spoken in the interview. She also has one of the best musclegirl quotes of all time:

My legs are pretty strong. I don't really squat all that much and I don't do a lot of heavy...I don't do a lot of heavy work because I just grow so easily. I mean, I can walk past a squat rack and my legs will just grow. And I just can't afford that.

Elsewhere in the video Mangano comments about how her upper body [see photo above right] is underdeveloped relative to her lower body. Does that look underdeveloped to you?

The first two segments of the video are Mangano ten weeks before contest, and then footage taken at contest time. She looks like a totally different person in contest condition, but still very foxy and far more voluptuous than most contest shape female bodybuilders. You could put a fake beard and a three piece suit on Mangano and she'd still look achingly feminine, so she probably has the perfect body type for putting on muscle.

The third video segment features Santa Montica Souza, who is also abundantly curvaceous. If you're not into the ripped look, then WPW-226 is for you, because the two women are extraordinarily curvy without sacrificing too much muscular definition. Souza, like Mangano, has exquisitely muscular thighs and nice proportional upper body development. Souza is about as lean in her segment as Mangano in her contest-ready segment, and that brings out her abs and delt definition, as well as those wonderful legs. Both women are extremely feminine in their builds and have a Mediterranean look about them - Mangano is southern Italian in origin and Souza looks to be Latina. Unlike with Mangano, there's little conversation with Souza.

Souza is also featured in this ESPN segment showing the 1995 New Jersey Bodybuilding Championships.

I wholeheartedly recommend this video.

Yes, muscular curves are the best, aren't they? :D I think that's why I have such a crush on Cindy P; she has that voluptous muscle-look during the off-season. 8)
