Gladiators Zone - a long-lived fan site - looks like it's been taken over by NBC. So I'm going to write and write and write about "American Gladiators" in the hope that the network will buy this site, too.
Anyway, in addition to the four female gladiators we already knew about (Valerie Waugaman, Jamie Reed, Tanji Johnson and Beth Horn) Gladiators Zone is reporting strongwoman Robin Coleman and martial artist Gina Carano have joined the cast.
Also, if you've got some free time, Tré Scott attended filming of "American Gladiators" over the weekend and wrote it up on Unreal Muscle.
The names and codenames of the female gladiators are as follows:
...a very daft name, but I'm delighted to see that they've had the guts to cast a really big girl (Robin) as a Gladiator. 8) :D

Helga? If they're going to re-cycle one of the past titles, i.e. Siren (aka Shelley Beattie) they might as well use another one, too.

Hopefully Robin won't be speaking in a bad German/Scandinavian accent. Some people have a preconceived notion that large Nordic women invariably have ancient Frankish-sounding names straight out of a ring epic, and speak as if they grew up down the street from Arnold Schwarzenegger.
