Kristanna Loken, of Terminator 3 fame, has been cast to play Painkiller Jane in a new TV series of the same name. The series will air on the Sci-Fi Channel but will not, apparently, include Emmanuelle Vaugier, who played Jane in a 2005 Sci-Fi TV movie.
For those of you unfamiliar with the comic book character, Painkiller Jane has a kick-ass healing factor that prevents her from dying or being maimed or crippled, but does not prevent injuries that might have caused such outcomes from hurting like a sonuvabitch. The TV series appears to be aiming for greater fidelity to the comic than the movie. It should premier next spring.
