I've always been severely attracted to Kate Winslet. No slave to scrawiness, Winslet has long been full-bodied, vigorous-looking and sexy as hell. So it was with some trepidation that I clicked through to an article in the UK Daily Mail describing Winslet as having become "fit", because for celebrity women, fit = emaciated and sickly.
Thankfully, Winslet has not starved and aerobicized herself into a stick figure. Her arms appear somewhat muscly, and her legs are gorgeously fleshed and hard-looking. She's terrific and I wish more female movie stars would emulate her approach - whatever it is - rather than starvation.
No "OMG ITZ A MAN" comments yet. I'm hoping Obama passes a law that allows those people to be put to death.

You forgot to mention that, on top of all her beauty, she carries that wonderful elegant Brit feel and attitude about her. Like Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman and Dame Judi Dench.

I think the elegance of Britishness is pretty much done. Only Americans and Aussies had any feel for it, back in the day, and there's not much left to justify it. For every Winslet or Blanchett there are a score of Paltrows or even Watts. Which doesn't diminish Winslet, of course, but it would be an error to associate her with any kind of glamour movement on that isle.
