GoDaddy, everybody's favorite web registrar, has added a new GoDaddy Girl to its stable. First there was Candice Michelle, now Olympic swimming superstar Amanda Beard has joined up.
Now 25, Beard appeared on the cover of the July issue of Playboy and posed for an eight-page spread. The magazine dubbed her "the world's sexiest athlete nude."
Beard rides a motorcycle and is the most downloaded athlete on the Internet, [CEO Bob] Parsons noted.
Both the company and the swimmer have drawn critics who say they shouldn't use sex for promotional purposes.
"Like with posing for Playboy, it strikes a certain amount of controversy, but I think controversy's good," Beard said. "I like it when people talk and voice their opinions . . . That does nothing but good for me."
In addition to Michelle and Beard, other GoDaddy girls include Danica Patrick and Valerie Thompson. GoDaddy posted a gallery here.
