Some Amaz0ns readers may have taken note of Aussie basketball player Erin Phillips when she played with the WNBA's Connecticut Sun last summer, during the 2006 season. Right now she's back in Adelaide playing with the Australian WNBL, whose season runs during the southern hemisphere summer.

Phillips is something of an athletic phenomenon, having originally aimed to be the first female to play professional Australian Rules Football. Just 5'7", Phillips excels on raw athleticism and unusual physical strength. She likes to show off her muscles, as in the banner graphics for the WNBL site, and on this profile page.

According to an article in the Norwich Bulletin, Phillips will be returning to Connecticut for the 2007 season. She's only 21 years old, so this could conceivably continue for a few years. There's a nice profile of Phillips and relevant links at the WNBA site.
