The mainstream media seems a smidgen more interested in the actual names of the American Gladiators cast this time around. Witness this morning's Michael Sneed gossip column in the Sun-Times, which says that:
Gladiatress . . .
Sneed hears Chicagoan Beth Horn, who graduated from Resurrection High School and grew up near the Galewood neighborhood on the West Side, will be roughing up contestants on the new "American Gladiators" television show.
The gladiator names are cute, but there's nothing wrong with focusing on the people themselves instead of the characters.
 Ho! Ho! That paper must have one terrible writer in that section. The proper term is 'gladiatrix', which isn't so hard to remember.

Oh, au contraire good sir, don't you know that a gladiatrix is a happy dominatrix, therefore being a "family friendly" newspaper they can't use that term.
(Yes, I'm being incredibly sarcastic and rhetorical, too.)
