Britta Kamrau

German long-distance swimmer Britta Kamrau looks like a supermodel, swims like a torpedo. It's difficult to imagine how much strength and endurance Kamrau must have to do what she does. There's a German TV interview with her here.

Check out these photos at the German-language Maxim.

Now this is the kind of strong woman I envision... smooth, tight muscularity, basically the swimmer's equivalent to a long-distance runner, in stark contrast to the hugely muscular Dutch women who tend to excel in short swimming events.

Wish I knew what they were talking about on the TV interview.

Bottom line... a woman who looks like she comes from a distant star, and essentially superhuman given the way she loves those 25km swims (she swims for 6 hours and barely wins by fractions of a second -- that's incredibly competitive).

Like your comment... I also can't imagine how strong someone would have to be to swim that long, racing all the way against another swimmer, and then sprinting at the end for a tenth of second win or loss.

I read somewhere where she's asked the athletic commission for even longer races. She's already the worlds best, but she believes she'd totally dominate on even longer swims.

She's damn cute too. Looks like she's been sculpted from a block of sensual steel. Talk about a hardbody!

Very nice find... kudos to German Maxim for featuring her, and to you for finding/sharing her.

There must be newsstands in the U.S. that carry German Maxim. Anyone know them?

You can actually see her muscles THROUGH HER SHIRT in that interview. She's gorgeous!
