I discovered an interesting blog today called
Femstrong. It's written by an aspiring sports broadcaster named Kate Troescher, and it's pretty good. The blog falls under the brand of a group called Sports Business Simulations. The "about us" blurb reads "This is SBS Personality Kate Troescher's blog about news, people, and the business of the fast growing sport of Women's Bodybuilding." [Insert polite cough here.]
The Sports Business Simulations model seems to be to take the "research personality" approach that's worked so well in finance, marketing and technology and export it to professional athletics. Given the money that's floating around in professional sports, that's probably not a bad idea. Troescher appears to be just one of a stable of smart, pretty young things the group has on hand to dazzle potential clients and investors. (Other s.p.y.t.'s include - but are not limited to - Lindsey Huff and Rachel Sears.)
