Power Plate
Wednesday, 19 July 2006
An article in the UK Daily Mail contains a picture of an impressively-buff Madonna. The piece is about the new vibrating platform gym fad. It begins:

With her heavily muscled arms, you would be forgiven for thinking it is the result of a punishing exercise regime at the gym.

But it seems the Queen of Pop's incredible shape is, in part, thanks to The Power Plate - dubbed the 'miracle' machine.

My knowledge of human physiology is insufficient to judge whether this device is of any use at all. I can see where astronauts might get some utility from it but when not in freefall the rest of us ought to do resistance training.

Whether or not it works, I'm always impressed at how fit Madonna is keeping herself.

I always have to laugh when the press claims that Madonna is "muscly". She is ripped i.e. little bodyfat, but not "heavily muscled".

Everyone knows Madonna uses her magic kabbalah powers to siphon off the energy of other celbrities, like she did when she kissed Britney Spears on MTV (and to a much lesser extent Christina Agulerra), leaving them shells of what they once were.

It seems, also Madonna also sucked out Lindsy Lohan's essence. It can't be a coincidence that Madonna started looking really buff, just when Lohan started resembling a crack whore. She probably snagged the Olsen Twins too.

Oh please. Madonna doesn't need to leech off of those lesser talents. Britney Spears?Lindsay Lohan?! They don't come close.
