Chat via Lingr
Saturday, 30 September 2006
I think I've found a solution to the chat dilemma. It's called - amusingly enough - Lingr, and it's a free chat site that operates on "Web 2.0" principles. You'll all see a little Lingr badge in the top banner here at Amaz0ns that indicates how many people are chatting, with a link to the Amaz0ns chatroom. I anticipate that Lingr will gain additional features over time.

One nice feature is that anyone can start a chatroom and give it descriptive tags. So it's entirely possible that there will be a whole array of "strong woman" chatrooms at Lingr, which users will be able to click between at will. So let's give it a tryout, shall we? If it doesn't work, we can always go back to what we had.

I find it interesting that you don't actually have to register with Lingr to participate, just make up any name you want when you enter the room. Is that really Lingster you're tlaking to? or Debido-San? or KisstheManiac? or is it me? BWAHHHHHHHH AHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
AHAHAHAHAHA

I do like the fact it at least has a little sound to tell you when someone says something, however I've noticed that some people seem to get booted from it, and I've received a couple of questions from others about whether or not it eats up as much of my sstem resources as there's...which it doesn't really seem to but I haven't done much else when I'm in there.
