1  Art / Art Q&A / Re: Intellectual property and going legit on: Nov 20, 2009, 09:10 AM
IANAL, so take this with a grain of salt:

The FBI investigates large-scale, for-profit commercial copyright infringement.  These are run underground, involve lots of people, and usually need to be infiltrated by an agent(s).  Things like stamping out lots of copies of a piece of software/music/movie and selling them for cheap.

What you could be in danger of is a civil lawsuit seeking punitive damages.  That said, these suits can only be brought by the copyright owner, and in the case of derivative works these types of lawsuits are rare (but they do happen, look up "The Wind Done Gone", a derivative work of "Gone With the Wind").  In the case of non-commercial, not-for-profit works like yours, I can't think of a single lawsuit (they may exist, but I don't know of any).  Think about it, what would the person suing (probably the photographer or the website they work for) have to gain by suing you?

Keep in mind that anyone can sue you at any time for any reason, that doesn't mean that they will.  I would be shocked if you ever got in any more trouble than someone telling you to take down one of their images.

I'm not familiar with her, but nice picture!  She is beautiful.

Fairly standard-issue model, no more, no less.  Small chest and visible ribs, which I'm not a fan of.*  The outfit is nice though.

* Usually.  I do appreciate visible ribs if they also come with visible abs on a girl who is toned and thin but not skinny/undernourished, if I may be allowed the distinction.

The first two volumes sound like fun, then.  I wonder how to get hold of them.  I only see a pre-order for volumes 2 and 3.

...Though other forum members practically fell in love with her because she was massive and "cute" but I never saw the appeal...

Well, obviously you can see the appeal, even though she doesn't appeal to you.  I don't like her contest look (I rarely do for most competitors), but in the off season I think Aleesha is jaw droppingly attractive.
7  General Topics / Web Links / Re: Christina Ricci... on: Aug 25, 2009, 11:20 AM
Having a cousin, an ex-girlfriend, and a friend who have all been hospitalized for anorexia/bulimia, it is indeed terrifying for the family and an awful, very difficult perspective for the girl to get over.  (I don't call it a mental illness because I abhor our desire to pathologize and stigmatize everything, but that's a rant for another day.)

Not a one of them looked like Christina Ricci until they started recovering and putting on weight and working out, so I think it is insulting and ignorant to compare Christina's slim but curvy physique to an anorexic's.  Slim is not skinny!
8  General Topics / Female Athletes & Muscular Women / Re: Kristy Hawkins on: Aug 05, 2009, 11:39 AM
She looks just gorgeous in that picture to me, but I've been of the opinion Kristy can do no wrong since I first saw a picture of her.  If anything, I think the vascular pump of those almost cartoonishly huge biceps just enhances her beauty, and I'm always astounded by her huge, powerful chest.

So yes, she reduces me to a drooling fanboy, so here's a grain of salt.
