Fiction / Writing Q&A / Re: Male Protagonists and/or Antagonists - Strong or Weak?

In the early days of Amazon stories the male characters always seemed to be 5'1" and 105 lbs. I'm glad those days are over.
I like the male characters to be as normal as possible so that, as Pug says, I can identify with him. It makes the contrast with the stronger or superstrong female more personal, more real, and ultimately more arousing for me.

Fiction / Writing Q&A / Re: Science (reality) vs Magic (fantasy) formats - Which do you prefer to use?

I enjoy both, but to be honest the science in my stories is really just another form of magic that pretends to be science. The difference is in how the user understands it, and to what extent the power that the science or magic brings is universally available.
At bottom, the key in my stories is power, and science or magic are different ways to exercise power, with different rules.

I'm enjoying it too, so I hope you'll keep going.
If you want to change an earlier entry, you can always edit your own post! I know that expanding the scope of the story can make it much more complicated and you could then stick to your main characters for now.
If you do edit it, you might consider making the period in the second time jump a few years later, so that the "edited scenes" could be reinserted.

Don't worry. I haven't forgotten Pendant Changes. It will be finished in 2008.
There are a couple of other stories I'm working on now, including a nearly completed rewrite of The Super One. Once they're done, back to PC.

I like this sequel. I like nearly everything The Power Company does.
I would have made Marcie just as bad as her mother and sister. Worse actually, and a lot smarter. I kept hoping she was only pretending to be good, that she had intuited that there was something extra that a disappointed and defeated Superman could still give her, if he thought she was his only and his last friend. I was thinking that that just as Superman gave her his powers, she would reveal her true, evil self, but it would be too late.
So that would be my variation on Ric's story.
But I did enjoy his version and I'm very glad he wrote it.
