Hi,

Just a quick question.  Is it possible to enable RSS feeds for several of the higher traffic forums here?

Thanks

Hey Bass -

That's a built-in feature in SMF, so the RSS feeds are being created but I haven't enabled links.  Because I'm running SMF under Mambo there are some complications, because Mambo declares its feed in the header.

Let me take a look at it and see what I can do - maybe put a RSS link button somewhere on each board?

What do you think - should I use the feed:// or http:// protocol?  A lot of browsers still don't recognize feed://...

OK, I put a RSS feed button next to each board header on the main forum index.  That will show up to 25 posts since your last login.  I think.  Play around with it and let me know if it does what you want.

Hey Lingster,

Wow, that was quick   8-) .  My RSS feeder isn't loving the type of link its giving.  I think it needs a direct link to a xml files (I'm no expert on RSS).  I'm using Firefox with Sage right now.  If any other RSS readers can work with it then I'll just change.

Thanks

Hm.  Post a link to a feed it does like, let me check it.

OK, it looks like it works in RSS enabled browsers like Safari.  Other applications seemed to be confused by the XML information in the Amaz0ns template header.  So I have to look into that.

I don't really know when I became so ignorant, but what is an RSS Feed?  Is it described elsewhere on this site?  If it's about me (as in Really Stupid Sonofa...) don't tell me because I don't want to know.
