OK, folks here's how I want it done from now on.

We have calendar functions turned on.  When a TV alert has a specific time component it ought to be on the calendar.  You can post events here: http://www.amaz0ns.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,93/action,calendar/sa,post/

Write up the alert information to the best of your understanding.  The Event Title line should be brief and identify the name of the program and just one or two words to describe it.  Perhaps something like "FBB on NBC Today Show".  That's how it will appear on the calendar and it must be brief.

The date should reflect the first day the program is to air, but if it's airing on consecutive days you can select more than 1 day from the drop-down under "Number of Days".

The Subject line can include more data - that's how it will appear in the forum.  That should be more descriptive than the Event Title.  For example, "Collette Nelson/Katie Couric interview 3/17/07".  An absolute date is required in the Subject line.  Do NOT use relative dates like "tonight" or "next tuesday" or "this coming Friday" in the Subject.  Topics that do not include an absolute date in their Subject line will be locked or deleted.

The body should include the following information:

Name of the program
Name of the episode (if relevant)
Day(s) it will air
Time it will air
Network or channel that is carrying it
City or TV market
Whether it appears to be a local or network broadcast
A brief description

So hypothetically the body would look like this:
"Today Show", on Friday, 17 March 2007 at 8am EST in New York on Channel 4, WNBC.  (Available nationally on NBC network, check your local listings.)  Katie Couric will interview female bodybuilder Collette Nelson, and they will compare biceps.

Also, you want to make sure the calendar event is posted to "Notices and Site-related Discussion - TV Alerts"
