Tennendo: the Art of Torashiro

I originally posted about Tennendo way back on April 26, 2006 at Amaz0ns.com.  It's been quite some time since I've written about it, and I think it deserves more attention from female physique fans.  Here's what I said back then:

Quote
The gallery at Tennendo ( 天然画廊 ) features a few ladies with muscle.  It's mainly a Street Fighter fan art site with interesting pictures of a Elena & a female Alex ( Ale-ko アレ子 ) from SF3, and a muscular rendition of Felicia from Darkstalkers.  It's also worth while to browse through his Oekaki for some more gems.  I've posted before about this oekaki but only recently discovered the gallery and site behind it.  For your convenience, here are links to his archives of oekaki pics which feature female muscle: ( arclog1 | arclog2 | sflog1 | rpglog1 ).  And here are the pics in the gallery that you should check out:

Tennendo has changed a lot since my last post.  The images are totally different over at the new gallery and a bunch of old images have been taken down.  What hasn't changed is the penchant of the artist, Eiji TORASHIRO ( 虎白英治 ), for depicting Women of Unusual Size ( bonus points if you catch this obscure reference ).  Of particular fascination to the artist are CAPCOM characters Felicia and Alex.  Interestingly, the artist seems to be fond of depicting Alex as a female.  Gender-bending of this sort is referred to as "bliss"  in some circles.  The character is sometimes referred to as "Bliss Alex".  The origin of this term comes from Midnight Bliss, an attack by another CAPCOM character that results in a temporary sex change for the victim.  Or at least I think that's where it comes from.  Here are a few of the eye-catching new images from the main site:

One of the oekakiBBSes has been taken down, but there's plenty to be found in the remaining BBS.  You'll find many images of Bliss Alex there:

Since many of these pictures are too awesome to fade into obscurity, here's a few images that were posted earlier and have now been rotated off the BBS.  I've taken the liberty of rehosting my favorite images so that generations will be able continue enjoying the wonderful artwork of Torashiro-san:

And lest I forget to mention it, Torashiro-san also has a Pixiv account with some beautiful images which follow below.  Oh, and  I originally thought that it sounded like a male name, but the artist is female according to her profile.  That's pretty cool.  Here's some nice images from Pixiv:

You need a pixiv account to view the larger versions.  Check out my guide to pixiv to get started.

Near as I can figure, the pics didn't violate any of Photobuckets terms of use.  I was rehosting images that had appeared on a public image BBS and were posted by the artist.

It's weird, but Photobucket says they received a DMCA takedown notice and had to respond by removing the offending images.  I was trying to figure out who might have sent the takedown, but I can't figure it out.  They kind of haphazardly deleted images in my photobucket account, including artwork which I commissioned and artwork that fell under fair-use, like thumbnails.  I could file a dispute, but it's not worth it...

So, I agree with you.  Photobucket needs to start reading the rules. Smiley
