Yea, she sounds like a chick I used to date.  The world was her oyster, and she would do all she could to find that sole grain of sand.  Completely beautiful… everything going for her, beauty, looks… and yet, there’s always going to be something missing.

Classic case of “nothing will ever be good enough”.

I’m sorry for her self-imposed deficiency.  She’s so gorgeous.  What a shame.

Peace and love,

~Mimi

Plenty of good advice and support there.  This also tends to suggest that her hubby is OK with her competing.

I think that happens to people who drive themselves too hard to succeed at something, they feel a need to continue to improve and they fear that if they don't find a goal to set, that they've become complacent and are on the downswing.  So they start to pick at everything obsessively.

If she took time away from weightlifting and bodybuilding, it may wind up being therapeutic for her.  Best of luck to her regardless of the circumstances.

It could also be a basic problem with the bodybuilding mantra of "visualize". You can visualize all you want and not be able to reach it because of physical limits or reality.

I would think "push it a little more" or "5 more pounds" would be better.

This is probabaly way out of place in this thread, but after reading her posts, and those of her bodybuilding friends, I see an incredible mental similarity between her bodybuilding pitfalls, and what a lot of artists, including myself go through from time to time. It's almost as if the only thing different is the outlet this "muse", for lack of a better way to describe it, is expressed.

Hopefully others who have gone through what she is going through can make it clear that she is not alone and help her through it.

The one positive that is sure to come of this is that younger bodybuilders will read her words and and learn from them. When they face similar problems they will have her experience to help guide and comfort them.

One thing I’ve always noticed about guys is that you all always want to fix us if there’s ever a doubt or a fear we chicas get.  No offense guys, its how your wired and its perfectly normal.  That was just the first thing that popped in my head after perusing through these posts.

God love ya for wanting to protect us damsels in distress… Wink

She’ll pull through.  She’s tough.

Peace and love,

~Mimi
