Just something my trainer suggested to me. If taking creatine supplement, try three tablespoons of honey when you take it, whether in capsule form or drink mix. Supposedly gives it something more to work with.

I find drinking a bottle of Gatorade with it (capsule form) works just about as well for me.

I was told it should be very simple, basic sugars and anything too acidic isn't really that helpful, like orange juice or such. I asked if honey would be fine and he said perfect. Doesn't get much more basic than honey.

My understand of how creatine works is that it increased the fluid volume inside the cell.  The cell likely works more efficiently and has a greater contraction when it is larger.  By taking a sugar with the Creatine you are causing a increase in insulin production that is need to absorb the sugar.  The increased insulin helps transfer more creatine to the cell and increase cell volume.  If you are taking just Creatine Monohydrate then adding a sugar is likely a good idea but I think that there are better sugars to add than honey.  Grape juice or as mentioned Gaterade, are likely better sugars but most of todays creatine are mixed with mixed with far superior sugars for this effect.  But I must admit that the added benefits are likely minimum.  There is alot of information available on the internet.  Hopely this helps.  As I said, this is my best understanding, but I am more than willing to listen to other view points.
