Regarding the idea that Marvel would even consider killing Tony Stark at this juncture, I have four words: Iron Man movie 2008

Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Tarrence Howard as James Rhodes.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in all fairness, all it took for Hal Jordan to have a turnaround from evil galactic scumbag to superhero was a six issue mini-series.

I just feel really bad for all the Iron Man fans out there; can you imagine having your favorite character turn into a bad guy? It can't be good for sales!

Here's my thinking; Marvel wasn't intending for people to have such a negative reaction to Iron Man. They wanted to create a morally ambiguous character who, while he believed in doing good things, nevertheless had a questionable way of going about achieving them.

Unfortunately, in comics, especially Superhero comics, that Alan Moore slant to superheroes can only go so far before people start hating characters.

Can we all say that we really liked what happened to a majority of the characters at the end of Watchmen? (Don't spoil it for those who haven't read it  Wink ).

So, in trying to create a hero for the 21st century who would do whatever it takes to save the world, Marvel instead created one of the biggest evil scumbags in comic book history. Here's to hoping Hulk's thumping of him knocked some sense into his tin plated head.

(Go She-Hulk!)

And a rather ridiculous retcon that still isn't sitting well with a fair number of readers.

I read it and like it... although the One Year Later storyline shouldn't have drug on for an entire year. It could have been told in less issues. Not only that, but the storyline of the first few new issues of Green Lantern had to deal too much with the new Infinite Crisis instead of trying to find its own legs. The best storyline of them all so far has been the one where he went to the Manhunter Planet and confronted the cyborg superman and rescued all the lost Green Lanterns.

(and Green Lantern Corps is doing a decent job of portraying the space cops but no one's been giving it much credit sadly  :'(.)

Still, go She-Hulk =), the other Emerald Knight-ess.

Well, I got the 3rd and 4th She-Hulk trade paperbacks in the mail today, and I'm almost done with the 3rd one already.  Tongue
I really liked the initial time-travel case, and I'd already read issue #100 (as mentioned in the first post), but we'll see how the rest of the TPB goes.

Alternate universe She-Hulk in Exiles #96... she's of the "She-Hulk SMASH!" variety.

She manages to knock her "smart" cousin Hulk out with one hit and then gets... taken out of commission by Sabretooth.

No, I'm not kidding.
