I think Slott is doing an over-all solid work - and I for one am ready for the downsizing of the hilarity factor - but the art has been... not very exciting. It seems like Marvel went out of their way to downplay any cheesecake overtones, choosing a "quirky" artist like Bobillo to launch the title, and having him followed by a string of very pedestrian artists (Will Conrad being the one exception).
I agree that her FF run was the best of her career, definetly the most fun read till Slott. Slott did more to develope her as a rounded character, but the FF years are where you want to go to, first. I know I fell in love with her then (issue 275 certainly played a part...), and they are the reason why John Byrne will probably beat the odds and end up in Heaven.

Regarding the figure, I'm amazed you were able to get her to stand up right. I have the same figure I think and her sense of balance is all wonky.
Also, people who are uber-sad about Shulkie being pro-registration...
Wait.
Issue 18.
She-Hulk learns what Iron Man did to her cousin.
And the crap will hit the fan
.
That being said, I still love Slott's writing and look forward to that issue. It will be the most cathartic thing I've read after that sour ride that Marvel took us on with Civil War. Shulkie Vs. Iron Man. BRING IT ON!

Anyway - I dislike the goofy Slott.. it does little for me.
I disagree. Comics needs goofiness, especially nowadays, when the editors' plans for mega-events seem to consist entirely of "Which characters can we f*ck up the most with this?"

I don't know about that. I thought Paul Pelletier's work was EXCELLENT. (Though I agree about Bobillo; anybody who makes the Champion of the Universe look like a schlub should not be allowed to work in comics.)

Oh yeah, totally Muscle Growth Nut. It seems like every other comic Marvel put out for Civil War was an apologetic for the crap Mark Millar wrote in the main book.
And he used She-Hulk at every opportunity solely as a talking head... grr...

Isn't it always, people only REALLY CARE about the loss of civil liberties when it hits home and becomes very personal. Not to mention her choice in Civil War was out of character, when you concider her stance on the Mutant Registration Act (the Superhero Registation Act under another title) several yrs back.

If Marvel had any sense they'd hire Robb Phipps to draw the book - it would outsell beyond their wild dreams . . .

I agree totally, Alex. Making her pro-registration was totally out of character. I blame Mark Millar. He managed to not only ruin She-Hulk for a spell but also Iron Man. I don't think the Golden Avenger will ever recover in popularity after this.
Mark Millar can't write comics without forgetting that there's an audience out there that cares about the characters he likes to butcher. Too often he makes his stuff political and turns his characters into sock puppets. And She-Hulk is certainly no sock puppet
.
That being said, YES! Please oh please let Robb Phipps illustrate She-Hulk. Or Frank Cho. Heck, I'd be happy if they let Cho run with the book for a spell.

Mark Millar completely slaughtered the Marvel U. In the recent Spotlight book of CW Aftermarth, they did a nice run on the concecuences and all, but more important the interviewed Slott and Rick Burchett (the current and possibly more than eventual penciler) about She-Hulk.
Slott mentions how surprised he was when he recieved the news that Jen was in the Pro-Reg side. I won't comment on Burchett style because it seems that we are the only ones that think she should get a more "classic" style/artist. It seems one of the reasons her book had big sales was not only Slott's plot, but Bobillo and all the other artist's simple and not too flashy art style.
And guys, sadly the only way Phipps, DCM, Wreck, Rex (10-4), or any other quallified artist for pro work (sorry for every one I omitted, it would be too long) to get a shot at Shulkie or any other buffed up female character, is for every FMG/FBB fan in the world to come out of the closet.

PS: I think "World Without Hulk" is Slott's way of saying to Millar don't you dare f#*k with my character and her decissions.

Amen, dude. Amen. I have a not so flattering image of what Mark Millar imagines he's doing to the Marvel Universe. Namely, performing unmentionable acts with our favorite jade giantess while holding Captain America's head in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.
I agree. Everyone else has had to deal with Millar messing around with their characters and it's stupid. I'm glad to see Slott having She-Hulk deal with Millar's insanity in a very head on manner. He takes continuity errors and runs with them to make them fit.
