When I joined this forum I had no idea what to expect. I'd joined a couple other FM type message boards and this forum blows them away. There are some thought provoking topics. I'd never really thought about this quesion before I read it tonight.

I've been writing FM and to a certain extent growth stories online since about '02, but I started reading stories in the genre back in the mid '90's. I started out reading the Aurora Universe stuff from Sharon Best. I haven't been able to find any of that material in years, but I always thought it was well written. I tend to really like authors who have fresh or unique ways to describe a female physique. I don't really need much help when it comes to situations or scenarios for my stories. I have those floating around in my head all the time.

I completely agree, darling.  This site is by far, the best of them all.  I also joined others, but those just seemed… well, dull.  Here, not only one’s libido aroused (can I say that?), but also your mind, which is an excellent erogenous zone.

I need to get my mind out of the gutter!!  Shocked

XOXO's

No, no- join us down here in the gutter- it's cozy and warm, and you never have to worry about chill breezes spoiling your fun! Grin

It's funny you should mention erogenous zones... I've often heard it bandied about that women (I would argue most people, actually) only have two erogenous zones- the entire surface area of their bodies and their brains...

Thanks for the laugh, sweetie… but yes, I agree with you.  Speaking for this gal, good illuminating words are often the way to my heart.  My motto has always been “you can seduce a man with power and wealth, but a woman with words”.  Well, NOT all men mind you…

Hmmm, lets see, I get much of my inspiration from people who write very much like I write, so Michele Roppo is first and formost on my list, GBM is not far behind him, I draw a lot of inspiration from reading DTM also, even though his chicks aren't that big, he has great descriptions and strength feats. Speaking of strength, Paul Smith got me inspired early in my writing, Mr. Shhh has some really great descriptions as well. To me, muscle size and strength should be really extreme, and the one's who push their characters to the highest degree of muscle and strength are the ones that inspire me the most in my stories.

As far as the outside of muscle world, J.R.R. Tolkien is my favorite author, JK Rowling has made a more recent impact with her Harry Potter books, Star Wars EU novels have been a staple of my reading for the last 15 years, Kevin Anderson and Timothy Zahn are my two favorite authors of those works. So yeah, when it comes to reading, I'm a big nerd,  Grin

Since you're essentially asking who inspires our 'writer's voices' -- if I understand you correctly -- my answers include but are not limited to:

Peter David
Mickey Spillane
Stephen King
Richard Marcinko
Robert E. Howard
H.P. Lovecraft
Spider Robinson

And remember, that's the short list! Smiley

lol! resurrected from the dead-thread graveyard!

Originally, I had intended this to be about what internet authors other writers used when seeking inspiration for the specific genre of FM/FMG; somehow, it grew beyond my control. Wink Cheesy

I'm glad to see some of my favorites on your list (Robinson, Lovecraft, King)- nice to know they're in good company!

lol, my bad. Honestly, and I don't mean for this to sound elitist, I generally don't have any favorite internet authors, and I don't even count myself as one. It's not a matter of "Well, if you can't get published offline, I'm not reading your stuff online!" It's a matter of schedule -- I spend so much of my online time doing the writing/corresponding with my publisher/contributing to blogs/etc that I have very little time for actual reading online. I haven't sampled widely enough to decide on a favorite.
