http://hundredpushups.com/

How to do 100 consecutive pushups in 6 weeks.  Looks great for beginners or those looking for a challenge. This is great, pretty much anyone can do pushups... no special equipment required!

So what are you waiting for?  Get to it! *cracks whip*  Grin

I would think a better challenge as a test of personal prowess for a beginner would be working up to deadlifting your bodyweight and/or twenty-one (overhand) pullups . . . but that's just IMHO.  Wink

Yeah, I met a guy recently who told me about the 100 pushups site.  I didn't say anything to him but it seemed like kind of a low bar to set for yourself.

Yeah... except when you don't have access to a pullup bar or weights... =/

I just like how you can do these anywhere, and it's very simple.

Well, depending upon how serious you are . . . but if you've got space (doesn't take much room) and are on a shoe-string budget, you can get a good two-piece (barbell rack frame and bench) workout station w/ weight set at Wal-Mart for a small outlay of $$$.

Either that, or keep tabs on the local money saver / shopper's guides in your area, it's not uncommon to pick up the equipment second hand at fraction of what it costs new.

Actually I did have a nice set of weights, but my ex took 'em. ;_;  I'm hopefully going to be leaving the province in a few weeks so I figure there's no point in getting a whole new set, not to mention the fact that I would have nowhere to put them.

Yeah, yeah... I know I sound like I'm making excuses... but I have no excuse not to at least do some pushups in the meantime!

Hey. NOTHING wrong with pushups. Shocked Look at gymnastics training, look at some of the gymnasts. That is mostly all body weight workouts. If you have no other options, there's nothing better. And it IS better than nothing. Smiley

Most people are world class excuse makers when it comes to diet and exercise.  I'm no exception.  100 push-ups may be a relatively modest goal, but it's a heck of a lot better than not having a goal.  And quickly achievable goals are confidence builders.

Good for you for continuing to push.
