Yes, it was rather sudden and sad at the same time.  I see both sides of it, I really do.  I particularly championed it because, as all of you know, I am an advocate for making FBB’ers mainstream and accepted.  I’m weary of the same old clips that feature FBB’ers as freaks, monsters, or whatever.  I just thought that the premise was promising and had a LOT of potential for an upcoming episode that had Sam dealing with the pros and cons of being a female bodybuilder.

Be that as it may, we don’t know what kind of hate mail they received or got.  From the tone of their public lynching at UnReal, I probably would have done the same.

Peace and Love,

~Mimi

To me, competitive female bodybuilding is toxic.  The long term effects of the drugs and their side effects, plus the organ damage that results from the 'dieting' and unnatural lean-ness at competition time, have tainted the whole thing for me.  It's a pageant of the grotesque.

Figure competitions - especially non-IFBB and non-NPC events - are better, but really the whole concept of physique competitions (as opposed to actual athletic competitions) leaves me pretty cold at this point.  It brings out the worst in people and leaves them permanently damaged.

Seems our Lady Mimi was covering all the bases.  The posted feedback @ Muscle Mayhem is interesting to read, if only because it’s a center of real world BBing and a FBBrs’ forum, too.  Cool

Too bad the denizens of Unrealmuscle badmouthed this into oblivion.  Angry

Yeah, but there will always be people who trash an opportunity for any old reason.  It's the ones who don't post a reply, but instead go ahead and audition, who get anywhere in the world.  Mimi's posts are attracting naysayers, but I bet that there are people who are grateful that she posted the notice and are acting on it (no pun intended!).

Some people are ambitious and recognize opportunities and accomplish things.  Other people hear opportunity knock at the door and complain that it's too much work to get up and answer it.  But as the saying goes, the world needs ditch diggers too. Smiley

Huh Quantum Leap? are they seriously bringing that back? didn't they conclude that show successfully? or is this someone making 'fanisodes'? I'm all confused.

The first paragraph of the producer's casting call does describe it as a "fan-based production", so it looks to me like it is a "fanisode".

What a shame the FBB part didn't work out.

Thanks for the kind words, Alex.  Kiss  I really thought I was doing a favor for those guys who are shooting that.  I sent them an apology, and they were very nice and understood I was just trying to help get the word out.  The backlash and reactions were appalling, but some stood up and gave it credibility… (ie, Nikki Warner)

From what they shared with me, they apparently found their actress/model/FBB for the role, and will be announcing it soon. There is still hope!!  Grin

Nikki always struck me from videos as being a sweet person.  I'm glad to hear that a suitable lady has been cast.

Great! The people producing this sounded so "turned off" by the negative response, I thought it would never be done. It's great to hear they are going ahead with it.  Cheesy
