For mainstream TV, Melissa is still considered borderline roids believe it or not.  So to get a body builder that's even bigger and more muscular than her would turn off a lot of people.

Though FBB's need exposure, the audience is just not ready to be dunked with Gina Davis, Heather Armbrust physiques, regardless of how beautiful the FBB is.

Sad, but probably true on the bigger good looking girls. The HBO show did fbbs no favors. Melissa is blonde with a nice sized chest, so she has some of the things the mainstream likes.

Keep us up to date on the show.

I would think that Gina Davis would be ideal for a show like that!  If they follow through with that they said they’re going to do, then the bigger the better I believe!  Apparently, this next episode would center on the FBB herself, and what discrimination she faces AS a FBB’er.  This is what they announced at first:

“Depending on the success of this re-launch, we'll shoot an entire episode around this 'leap', featuring your character as the lead role in a possible future production. If we shoot the next episode, the show will tackle the issues of a woman's acceptance as a legitimate bodybuilder. While we (the Producers) are no experts in the professional bodybuilding arena, we are seeking a uniquely beautiful woman who is big and muscular.”

This was as if Heaven had finally opened up, and blessed every woman with muscle… well okay, maybe I’m being a little dramatic there, but I was THRILLED to see a production company (big or small) be brave enough to tackle an issue like that.  Granted, its not a ‘front burner’ issue, but in terms of women’s rights, I champion that, and would LOVE to see ANY show take on society’s hang ups with muscle on a woman.  I haven’t heard back from them about the story (yes, I begged them to let me read the script), but I am really hoping they go for it. 

*Sighs*  Ahh, a girl can dream…

If people are not engaged by, or even repelled by this storyline and the way Melissa is portrayed, then they won't be likely to take it further. Of course, I'd love to see it succeed, but I doubt we'll see a Hawkins-style physique being positively-portrayed for the foreseeable future.  There, let's hope I put a jinx on the prevailing view and the public take FBBers to their collective heart! Cool  Grin

Gina would a nice choice, but for me, I'd prefer Shawna Walker - tall, as well as buffed.  Wink
