I know, it's been a while. I wish I had better news to share.

I'm afraid it's been a week, ago but in case y'all haven't heard... my country's hosting gov't. has blocked out deviantART nationwide.  They offered no warnings, no explanations, no announcements, no nothing.  I learned about it as soon as I logged in last week at the office between classes, and came back home to double-check.

http://news.deviantart.com/article/65007/ has the low blow-by-blow.

I'm able to use Grandmaw Edgar's Cheatware to get in and post to forums and such, but I can't use anything with javascript in it.  And that means I can't check favorites, my watches, galleries, and worst of all... I can't upload any pictures or stories to my own site.

I'm afraid I'll have to announce a writing freeze until I can get beyond the razor wire or find another solution.  Sorry to all those whom I pledged short stories.  I'm hating this.

Oh Jimmy, I'm really sorry. That's got to be really frustrating.

That is highly unpleasant.

Sorry to hear about the reduced functionality.  Angry

I have no idea what would prompt such a banning.

What would be monstrous if it was to pave the way for a PRC approved online gallery service.

Hopefully there will be other avenues to share your fine writings in.

Any idea if Brawna still functions for you?

It's not just them.  Since the Olympics are over, it seems the Powers That Be don't have to even try to keep up appearances anymore.  The Net Nanny's going rabid.  Even the New York Times has been blocked out.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it did "protectionize" things for a local party-liner, though.  Sad

And while I can reach Brawna... my writing's gone into other things.  I've discovered that (gasp!) there's more to write about than large females.  Looks like I've outgrown it.  (How's that for ironic?)

Hey, guys, I checked at lunch from the office just to make sure... and surprise, surprise, it's back in again.  Double-checked it at my computer in my apartment... and yes, I can go into it with all the bells and whistles, no worries.

Not quite 100% relieved... I've still got the pall hanging over that these twits might pull the plug again some day.  All I can do now is use it and appreciate it whilst I got the time.

And announce the writing freeze is now thawed.

Hmmm, maybe there's some in the inner circle like your "large female" stories and want you to get back to work on 'em.

Goodness knows there's many here that do, too.  Wink
