Those of you of a certain age remember "Lurch" from the Addams family TV shows and movies. The hulking lug with growly voice. I now use that term to describe any muscular or hulky looking woman who hangs in the background of bad guys or female lugs who get punched out by the hero. Unfortunately this is what's happened to Rampage, who in Superman #686 is portrayed as a Frankenstein D-Lister (Not even on the C-List anymore?) who grunts growls and quickly get p'wned by Mon-El. Not sure when it was decided she'd go all villian, but her "Lurch" status may be a few steps from being killed off in yet another "crisis" in a few years. There's a new female Blockbuster in issue #689 shown in a one page beat down, but Blockbuster was always a third rate hulk so the sex change isn't much more interesting. Unfortunately, I haven't replaced my scanner, so if anyone cares, you could post images here. Too bad about Rampage though. They could have made her a B-List support character like She Hulk.

I can safely say that I'm probably one of the biggest Rampage/Dr. Kitty Faulkner fans out there. (I hold the only site dedicated to the two!) Now, those who know me well. know how much a fan I am of the two. (probably moreso then She-Hulk, hehe)

I think its uttermost CRAP what DC has done to Rampage/DKF. I realized she started off as a Brute way back in Superman #7, but quickly became a hero, which is how I like her. My favorite series with Rampage is definitely Starman as they drew her strong, feminine and not manly at all. (I'll sacrifice a heavy muscle for muscular beauty any day) But, its getting ridiculous what they are doing to Rampage/DKF.

Not even acknowledging her as a 2nd stringer (Yes, she should be) let alone killing her off is garbage. Why she has not gotten her own mini-series, when 3rd stringers like Blue Beetle, Booster Gold and others have, is beyond me. But, I guess DC has room for only one muscular superheroine (Power Girl) and no one else. Yes, Rampage was definitely the She-Hulk of DC, and its a damn shame what they have done to her over the years.

This is why she will be revived by me in my She-Hulk mini-series. You dont let the great ones fade away, at least I wont. Cheesy

Thanks for bringing Rampage up BTX, I dont mind rambling for the 100th time aout how I miss her lots.

She's not dead Fonz, but DC is definitely fucking with her. It's just when a character "drops" down the list even when they've proven themselves in the past (Pantha anyone?) They become Redshirts later on.

Yes, I can unequivocally vouch for that fact - going back to the long ago but not forgotten days of the Savage Impulses forum of Unzipped (now Public Enemy #1)  Wink
