i just finished watching this movie.there have been a few attempts to make this kind of movie in the past (fighter girls),some where good, this one is not so good i have to say.
but the question i had in mind is,pound for pound if you put a guy and a girl of the same weight class both are pros in top shape does the girl have the chance to knock the guy out ? i dont think so,i think she will put some good hurting on him but i still think that the guy would have the upper hand in the end.im talking boxing or MMA here.
i know the girls of boxing and MMA are tough as nails, but i still think that the guys would beat them.what are your thoughts ?

After watching Britt Miller decimate a champion female boxer with just her brute strength alone.  The man will definitely win, there is a reason why there is no co-ed boxing or MMA fighting.  Men just have the natural physical advantage, but if there's a woman out there who is extremely skilled then yeah she could win the fight.

Given the rules of MMA and boxing- and the fact that they really favor upper body strength- I would say that a woman would have to be incredibly lucky to beat a similarly sized and skilled man.  I'm not saying that it's impossible; simply that it's unlikely given (a) the way women tend to build muscle compared to the way men do and (b) the way men are socialized to fight versus the way women are (ie- socialized NOT to fight).

I actually just watched a show where they pitted two boxers, a man and a woman of equal height and weight, against one another to see if a woman was capable of hitting as hard.  The woman's last punches actually impacted with more than 10 psi over the man's.  Now of course, part of that was the way she positioned herself prior to landing the punch, but isn't it always?  You would think landing a perfect punch would put a woman in range of the man's punch, not surpass it.  Just goes to show that we are constantly underestimating a woman's physical potential  Shocked

I agree with you. What was the name of the show, by the way?

Can't remember the name of the show.  It was some ESPN thing where they use science to address sports issues.  Kinda like Mythbusters, or... some other show where they use science to answer questions or solve mysteries etc.

just want to state that in the movie,in the last fight she gets a couple of well placed shots to the guys kidney, now im no expert but i know one thing, you hit someone a few hard times in that place and the person would be pissing blood later on,so i agree that if the woman position herself right,as a very skilled fighter and get the soft spots hurting that she SHOULD win the bout.
