Man, those japanesse guys just don't know how to draw a muscular female
(saving ofcourse sky, atelier, and all the ones at the late mighty muscles explosion)
Don't forget Y. Yoshida at
Earth Color!
Trouble is, none of these artists are actually
in
the anime business! (Or if they are, they're not being allowed to express themselves adequately.)

For starters, I would like to apologize for not following the rules enough for putting something up on this board in the first place. I know I should have put up more stuff, but I was a bit apprehensive in doing so.
Secondly, I would love to say that One Piece...well, the original manga, is one of my favorite series out there because of the weird and wild stuff that the manga-ka, Eiichirou Oda, pulls while having a lot of great battles and characters. But I guess a bit more of my apprehension about putting up the sighting for Miss Monday is partially because of the weird design of her character (she looks like a cross of a little girl and a full grown man) and is because of the typical feelings muscle women get in anime/manga: they're too masculine to be depicted cute. Sure DC Matthews and many others have made excellent muscle girls that combine the best of cute and power, but I guess its not really a mainstream thing there.
BTW: I do admit though that they did get that muscle woman in "Rune Soldier Louie" right though...but that's another show and for another time.

BTW: There's a slight FMG scene much later in the series, but we'll get to Miss Doublefinger another time.
(Heh..and this is me wishing we could have a Shulkie pic of her dressed up like Miss Monday)
Miss Doublefinger is definitely more feminine looking in the manga. Can't wait to see the episode of her.

Miss Doublefinger actually is one of the main Baroque Works agents who takes part in the main Alabastar battle. And at the rate 4Kids is ruining One Piece (no Little Garden, those jerks! I want some Elbaf giant action!), we should be getting to Alabastar sooner than any of us think.

As he said, most times
anime
tries to do a muscular woman, they come up with a character that looks like a man with tits. (Can I use that word? let me check... yes, I can use the word "man".)
Heh, a lot of anime is infamous at, um, blurring gender lines. if you've seen the Project A-ko anime (the 86-minute movie, not the series), one of the running gags is that
every single character
in that movie is female. A-ko, B-ko, and C-ko, the main characters, are all female (despite being a love triangle). The gargantuanly butch school bully? Female, with a ludicrously cutesy voice. The alien minions sent to retrieve C-ko? Female. The alien ship commander who speaks with a male voice? Female!

Please let's not forget Kinsyo, albeit his
homepage
has not been updated lately, he has a quite sizable gallery of anime style muscle girls. Also, AFAIK he do works in the manga business, he even published a short manga with muscular females in a tankoubon (telephone sized publication) called Amazones 2. Sadly it was a hentai manga and it looks like sales do not guarantee further installments

I've actually seen Project A-Ko once...very funny/crazy movie. (though I hear the original intent was pure yuri, so I think I'm happy it turned into an insane sci-fi/comedy/high school romp!) I do remember that they did have at least one masculine muscle woman in that series...but of course, the super-strong A-Ko (whom somehow was the daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman) was slim, cute and powerful. I guess that's the running gag of a lot of these types of things: we can make females super strong, but we can't give them muscle or they'll become men. But that's what we're here for.
