Can’t believe I’m the first person to post this, but for those who haven’t already seen it, this is Michelle Jenneke, a 19-year old (so no Allison Stokke issues here! 😉 ) Australian hurdler, who has, shall we say, a stimulating way of warming up for her races:

(This is the unedited version of the full race. If you want the edit with slow motion and cheesy music, you’ll have to find that yourself. It won’t be hard. )

While her routine could be arrogance or a mind game, I actually think she really is just that joyful, given that 1.) she makes a point of greeting all the other runners after the race, and 2.) none of the other competitors seem too unhappy about the fact that they’ve just had their butts handed to them.

    Speaking of butts:

It’s also nice to see a female athlete with at least some decolletage, if you know what I mean.

This was her first heat at the recently completed junior world championships of track and field. For good or for ill, she finished fifth in the finals, with Morgan Snow, an American, taking the gold with a big rush at the end. If you’d like to see that, it’s here:

    Hurdle Finals

and Michelle still seems reasonably cheerful at the end, which is another argument for that being the normal state of her personality.

For more pics, see here: Busted Coverage and here: Coed Magazine. (Unfortunately, the photos at her Facebook site are not currently open to the public.) She won’t be at the Olympics this time around, but we can always hope for Rio, where they certainly know something about shaking it. . . 😉

First time I saw this was at huffingtonpost.com, pleasantly surprised it took off the way it did.

She has a presence, plus the talent, so she will be extremely marketable.

Disappointing that she won’t be at our Olympics, but she’s certainly cute and seems as though she has a nice personality.
