I long time ago I was reading some afticles about the 1950’s and the plans to stop a communist invasion from happeing or stopping them once they got here. (shades of the movie red dawn 1985)
One of the ideas was for teach the equivalent of the US Army ranger couse to EVERY high school students Male & FEMALE over the course of there high scool education. At the end of the article: It said every women would be as fit as a ranger and just as well skilled.
As we all know it was not put into place. Just one of the crazy ideas one come up with in times of war and such. But it would have been great, at least all the ladies today would at least be fit!!
I wish I could find this aticle or anything related to it. Anyone else every read anything like this during the Cold War?
