Didn’t believe it when I heard it from Jess Williams… but when I looked into it and came across this article. I’m so dissapoint it ain’t even funny.
June 7, 2013 at 2:46 pm #114317fbbfanParticipantI guess that is one way of having Iris Kyle not win again.
June 8, 2013 at 1:00 am #114335MrBatchParticipantYeah, heard about that! That’s a harsh blow to all competitors!
June 8, 2013 at 5:15 am #114340saculParticipantI also read the article last night and I’m really sad to see it go down. Unless someone really dedicated steps up it seems that female bodybuilding will remain obscure and may be in jeapordy unless it already hasn’t. What would u guys choose to do to keep the sport afloat?
June 8, 2013 at 8:51 am #114344Trash BoatParticipantThis might be an opportunity for some other federation to step up. Ifbb is now officially killing female bodybuilding.
June 8, 2013 at 9:37 am #114348BodybyBaneParticipantKnew it would come to pass with Physique being created&Crossfit becoming mainstream

This has been coming for a long time now, only thing is that it didn’t happen far sooner.
FBBing existed as a fringe subcultural interest long before its early 80s breakout, and it will continue to do so even after the contest level version that we’ve seen emerge into the public domain is no longer supported by any sponsors.

Magazines, like Newspapers are Old Media and the static services that they provide can’t compete with the 24/7 dynamic updating of information that the Internet now provides to a consumer.
Personally, I’m surprised that more of them haven’t folded faster than they have already. Magazines are weekly or monthly publications and supplied something at a level above that of Newspapers by having slicker photographic content and also served niche audience interests.
Newspapers are a daily (and dated) product and there is still something of a consumer base to support them, if but getting older and fewer in number with each passing yr. Given the growing inability to financially justify their existence, I don’t see any future for the large city dailies. By contrast, the smaller town/community ones will probably continue endure for a longer while.

But you can’t hang the internet on your wall OR fridge to inspire/motivate you
Long story made short always were too many books in this industry anyway
&
Now there’s NOT enough champions in this industry for ppl to care about
Nobody in mainstream can say who the current Ms.O is let alone the current Ms.I
For that matter Cory Everson&Lenda Murray are no longer household names
Aside from Ice,Zap & the other American Gladiators OR Chyna I dare you to name a FBBer who kids {younger generation} can tell you about
We need a hero!
maybe not the hero Muscle Industry deserves, but the 1 it needs right! -
