So it seems that Denise is down and out in Texas these days

    Denise Rutkowski today

The tagline of the post is not positive. Though I don’t think that she’s been on steroids in a very long time, if she was back in the day.

Her rise was rather meteoric, but her time in the spotlight was very short.

In the late 90’s after she disappeared from the scene. I know that she was still working with low income kids and I believe fostering one or two. There as some news about her losing her right to work with kids due to one of them finding out she had done some porn in the past. After than she apparently “lost it” and/or lost everything. Around this time I remember reading that she had been taking in by a church/religious group, then I remember she was found on the street of Venice, homeless and I think showing signs of mental illness.

That was the last news I had ready about her.

Not sure what led to her life falling apart or why she didn’t seek or get help. A shame that she couldn’t stay in the sport and continue working with kids.

Wow……I heard many rumours on various sites about her but this somewhat confirms it….in my view! Sad to see her go down ‘that route’!

I’ve seen those last pics several times- and in reference to several different FBBs. Does no one ever actually compare things that steroids really don’t change, such as (for example) the shape of her nose and eyes?

Steroid usage does bad things to people; everybody knows it. Do we have to post bullshit fake pictures to prove the point? For one thing, it destroys credibility.

Are you saying it isn’t her? Seems unlikely to be false given the provenance of the photo.

The original photo comes from a tabloid newspaper… how much do you trust it? I’ll admit I can’t read it in the original language, but the headlines when translated into English certainly read as sensationalist, and the article attached to it is clearly biased. I would be much more inclined to trust it if there were a series of photos showing how she managed to change not only her facial structure, but her visible muscle mass as well.

No, I’m not impressed with the photo.

I will add this: even if you accept this photo as real (and untouched, unfaked, etc), the damage cannot be explained purely with steroid use, or we would be seeing similar photos for virtually every athlete alive- and certainly every bodybuilder!

what I know is she became a meth-head, this is what it does to you!

Then why blame the effects on steroids? Meth is a distinctly different drug. (And that picture has been used on an “effects of Meth” poster that we were shown annually for the past six years in Arizona…)

I’ve see the image before – it was a police mugshot. I know what you mean – the difference is so great it seems unlikely to be her, but a history of heavy steroid use, followed by alcohol and crystal meth does strange things to people’s appearance.

I’m willing to concede that it might be her- although I swear I’ve seen that same image for years (Hell, I know the brain plays tricks); I’m not willing to concede that the degradation is purely time and steroid abuse, though.

Steroids do have bad effects on the body, absolutely. I’m one of the first to point that out, in fact. What irritates me is simply this: by claiming that the complete transformation was caused by steroids, you deny other (far more plausible) causes- and when those causes are uncovered, steroid abuse then gets a free pass. It’s stupid.

oh I agree I think it was the meth and booze, the late great Combs was found dead in a low rent apartment from Alcohol poisoning in 89 very sad!
