90’s Hanny Van Aken

Hair that only the early 90's could produce.

But awesome stuff.  I had forgotten about Hanny.  How extensive is this magazine archive of yours?  Any Rachel Mclish kicking around in it?  There can never be enough Rachel.  Or any other bodybuilder from that era for that matter.

Now this lady was one of my favorites as well.

This was a very pretty, attractive lady.

And she was very muscular.

And even more magnetically enrapturing on video – simply a pleasure to behold.

(Masschine probably can confirm or deny this postscript) I later heard that when she finally dropped out of bodybuilding she started up a restaurant (in Massachusetts?) – a pizza parlor, of course.  😎

BTW – DCM, I have to say this once again, but that desktop drawing you did w/ her is just fantastic!

Ms. Van Aken was almost a favourite if my's.
Because she had such beautiful and lovely, lovely eyes. She was stunning and so muscular for a Lady of such a short stature.
Truly a beautiful little Goddess.

I believe that this is the one that was the inspiration for DCM's Amazonian portrait of Hannie in a Red Sonja-like motif.

That was the pose, but I remember her head being tilted ever so slightly more toward the camera. (It's possibly that second shot, which was probably flipped for publication.) I'd have to go look the photo up in my own Amazonian archive, but it's definitely that pose.

(I also used that pose, and drew Sandy Riddell's face on it, for a portrait of "The Amazon" from Maxwell Madd and his Wrestling Women!. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a scan of that pic yet; when I do find it I'll share it here.)
