I have been thinking on a game based on female bodybuilding characters.
Originally I thought on a RPG card game, to be played by 3 or 4 players, something like Magic The Gathering but with more players (more like Munchkin). The main idea is that each player represents a woman that start a bodybuilder career to win the Miss Titania title (a sort of Miss Olympia). The players have to compete between then and also against some NPCs. However, I have considered that developing it using UNITY as a RPG game with some strategy and click and play elements could be a better option.
The game will cover two main phases. The main one is the preparation and the second part the final competition.
Preparation phase:
It will cover about 3 years of the life of the character. Our character starts the game with certain skills and has to develop some actions to improve them. Some of the actions can be; to choose a trainer, to participate in regional and local competitions and to decide how to earn money to buy food, supplements, hire a better coach… The time will be limited to the player has to decide the actions that will be more beneficial for his character.Characters:
The player could select the starting character. Each one has a different background (ex-ballerina, ex-power lifter), strengths and weaknesses in each characteristic (strength, size, definition, confidence). Besides, the character has physical characteristics: arms, back, chest and legs that will develop during the game and will be key in the final phase.Ms. Titania competition:
In each competition of the Preparation phase, the player will learn how to make the character pose. Basically the idea is to click on the bodypart as quick as possible to make a bar to increase from the bottom to a green area (well done) or to a yellow area (amazing posing) until reaching (if possible) the top red area (WOW!!!). The more developed are the muscles (arms, back, chest…) the easier to reach the highest level.Well, still thinking. All the contributions are welcome!

August 15, 2017 at 9:19 pm #136299joseParticipantThat should be great! I’d love to make something like the Sims but I have not the resources and the time…
I was thinking more on a 2.5D RPG game, like Larry Leisure Suit.
But with graphics similar to the ones of the great artist Gettar82
For the workout and the posing, I was thinking in something like the game Douchebag Workout 2

Any oppinion?

Just one thing from a usability point of view:
If there are repetitive options, make them easily selectable (by placing the respective button in the same location on the next screen, for example) or add the option to plan “bulk actions” or set up a schedule.
This way, you can make them game simpler to use and more entertaining.Another way is to figure out a method to prevent the game from being repetitive.
I constructed my own, much more primitive game using twine and found that these considerations are important.
Here it is if you’re interested.

Nice advice. Yes, well indeed the competition is just a part of the game, the game will have a navigation menu, inventory…still creating the interface. I have to avoid it to be repetitive, so I’d create some storyboarding to improve with comments before going to Unity and develop the code.
Love your idea of “Bulk actions” and planning the workout, I have to think how to, but I’ll add it definitvelly.I have played your game and I must say that it is really nice and fun!!
By the way, you can follow my developments of the game at my deviant. All the comments and suggestions are welcome:

Also, thank you for the praise!December 9, 2017 at 10:52 pm #137653El_Roy_1999ParticipantOne thing you could try for the posing would be some kind of Dance Dance Revolution-like system that asks for certain combinations of inputs to strike a pose. The player could “build up” the necessary energy to increase its effectiveness.
For example, the combination for a double biceps could be “down – down – up – left and right – upper left and right – center”, but by hitting the buttons at the correct time or keeping them depressed at the right moment, the pose would be more effective.
December 9, 2017 at 11:38 pm #137654joseParticipantThanks!! I really like the idea, more interesting than just clicking on FLEX button and make the bar to increase. I had this idea in mind but discarded it. I think that I’ll take it again. In the game as it is, the idea is that the bar decreases in time while you try to click fast to make it grow, clicking also reduces STAMINA then you can use the POWER UPs. Figure shows how:
The key combination in a sort of Dance revolution can change in time, game might show sequences, and you have to follow the sequence. This has a disadvantage, maybe you it can be too distracting of the show…
