I’ve been wondering this for a while now. Has anyone else struggled with getting the right audience on dating ads? Not just traffic, but people who actually engage or match the intent of your campaign?

When I first started running ads for a dating offer, I thought targeting would be the easy part. You pick age, interests, maybe location, and done. But honestly, it didn’t work that way. I kept getting clicks, but conversions were all over the place. Either the audience wasn’t serious, or they just weren’t the right fit for the app I was promoting. It felt like I was guessing more than targeting.

Out of curiosity, I started reading about Dating App Advertising Platforms and how they approach targeting differently. I came across this page on Dating App Advertising Platforms pretty early in my research, and it gave me a better picture of how niche ad networks actually segment users.

What I noticed is that these platforms don’t just rely on basic filters. They seem to work more on user behavior, intent signals, and sometimes even past interactions within similar apps. When I tested a smaller campaign using a platform focused on dating traffic, the difference was noticeable. Fewer clicks, but way better engagement. It felt more targeted without me having to tweak a hundred settings.

That said, it’s not perfect. You still need to test creatives and angles. But I do think these platforms help reduce the randomness you get with broad ad networks.

So yeah, if you’re struggling with targeting in dating campaigns, it might not just be your setup. The platform you’re using plays a bigger role than I initially thought.
